Analytical writing in GRE

Analytical Writing is the very first section of the GRE general test. This section features two essays. These essays can be broadly divided into “argument analysis” and “Issue” analysis. This section is designed to test your analytical and writing abilities. Keep the following points in mind while preparing for this section:
- Avoid Stuffing. You should keep your essay pithy. Whenever you express an opinion, make sure you support it with facts. Essay graders highly value it as the section is meant to test your analytical ability.
- Start with an introduction. It is very important to present your ideas in a structured manner. Once you have formulated your answer, you should draft the framework and state your thoughts. It is always helpful to start with “introduction” paragraph to give a gist of your arguments. Read more…
