What is the validity of the GMAT Score?
Your GMAT score report consists of 4 scores which are for quantitative, analytical writing, verbal and total. The score report will also include your GMAT scores from previous attempts in the last 5 years. Along with your score, you would receive the percentile for each of the 4 scores. Percentile will give you the percentage of people over the most recent 3 year period that have scored less than you in the section concerned. The GMAT scores range from 200 to 800. While the scores for verbal and quantitative range between 0 and 60, the score for Analytical Writing Assessment is based on the assessment of the analysis of an issue. It will be the average of the ratings the candidate would receive. There are 2 independent ratings.
Official scores of the GMAT exam including the Analytical Writing Assessment will be available 20 days after the exam. Therefore you will have to choose the time of attempting the exam carefully. Once you receive the score, it is valid for 5 years. It means, this score will remain on your score card for 5 years, every time you attempt to write GMAT. Read more…
