Arghhh…a question on probability! You know you are bad at it, you dreaded to even determine the probability of getting a question on probability in your GMAT quantitative aptitude section, at the precise time you were engaged in a race against time, to finish as many questions as possible in the math section and get high GMAT score.

What exactly are GMAT percentile scores?

What do you interpret when someone says that his or her GMAT percentile is 94? Did you for one moment think his score to be 94% of 800 (the total GMAT score)? Are you amongst those who consider percentile and percentage to mean the same thing? HOPE NOT!

The GMAT percentile of a candidate indicates the total percentage of students who have scored less than or equal to the GMAT score obtained by the candidate. Therefore, in a way it’s a form of ranking, that too in descending order. Higher the percentile ranking better is the performance and greater chances of getting in the best business schools in the country. Read more…
