This is an absolute formality and you have to fill in all the details required to complete the MBA application. Every single piece of date in that application is equally important and therefore candidates must ensure that no errors creep into that. In fact, applicants must check and double check the details they have provided. Any misrepresented fact, either by intention or by accident, would lead to the rejection of the application in most cases, and hence candidates shouldn’t even think about hoodwinking the authorities. Most colleges in Australia and also in Fiji and New Zealand have 2 semesters in every academic year. This is similar to the general pattern in most countries. The academic year starts in February and lasts till November, with December and January being the off months for a holiday. The first semester runs from February to June. The second semester runs between July to November. There are couple of colleges in Australia which even offer three semesters in a year. The first semester is between January and April. The second semester extends from May to August. The third semester is between September and December.
The two colleges which offer three semesters a year are the Bond University and the International College of Management. For the Bond University, the deadline is mid October for January admission. For starting in May, you will have to apply latest by February 15th. June 15th is the deadline for starting college in September. The International College of Management also has similar deadlines. It could be quite confusing as far as application to various universities after writing your GMAT exam is concerned. In one of our posts, we had talked about GMAT Test dates for 2010 and 2011.
Usually you could go for the Fall or the Spring when applying to American colleges. A lot of universities have multiple rounds each with their own deadlines. Therefore, the whole process of application to a US college starts with your examination. The important question to decide is whether you are applying for an MBA degree starting in 2011 or for a degree in 2012. For 2011, you must at least have your GMAT scores ready by now. Round 3 of many colleges like Berkeley-Haas, Carnegie Mellon and even Harvard are scheduled in January extending up to March. So you have some time to apply.
