• The exam format and objectives for each of the exams will be the same as they were previously under Sun so there is no impact to those preparing to get certified.
• If you are currently holding a certification exam voucher for one of these exams, they will be valid through their expiration date and can be redeemed at Prometric.
• If you currently hold an existing Sun certification, your current Sun certification title will still be recognized under the Oracle certification program and will continue to be valid. You can upgrade your certification at any time to the latest technology release to receive an Oracle certification title.
• If you are in the process of preparing for a certification exam that you will take after September 1, 2010, you will receive an Oracle certification title and will have use of Oracle Certification Program Logo for endorsement of your proven skill by Oracle Corporation.
• Candidates taking exams between September 1-3 may see either Sun and/or Oracle-branded exam titles while registering and taking exams during this transition period.

If you don’t want to go for spring training then you must have experience in working on spring. Spring source such candidates as ‘grandfathered’ candidates. You need to provide a ‘Grandfather Application’ providing proof of their experience on spring. Some more details are given below

Spring Framework is offered to two groups of people: those who have attended a 4-day Core Spring training course and those who haven’t attended the course but have gained knowledge of Spring from other sources, such as private study, client projects, forums etc.  We call this second group, ‘grandfathered’ candidates.

A grandfathered candidate is a person who has not attended the four-day Core Spring class but who has satisfied any one of the following criteria:

•             Demonstrable evidence of (1) successful Spring solution completed. Evidence will include customer name and contact information reference.

•             Demonstrable evidence of adding value to Spring Products and/or the Community. Candidate should provide supporting information from one or more of the following examples:

a. Forum post
b. Software patches
c. Articles promoting Spring or explaining Spring
d. User Group involvement

•             Possession of a Spring Framework Professional Certification from a previous version of Spring.
