Today on July 07, 2009 Michael Jackson’s funeral service has been held at Staples Center , LA. Thousand of friends and families came together to pay respect to a man who was one of the greatest entertainer of our times.
I would call myself fortunate to live in this era where Micahel Jackson was known as the King of the Pop . An amazing voice with incredible dance movements. Any body who wanted to learn dance always wanted to copy Michael Jackson. He was the Guru of dance , Guru of Pop.
Today is no more with us but his memories remain , his songs are with us and we will never forget the man , Michael Jackson.
May God Bless You.
First of all , I will excuse myself writing this topic here because it does not relate to tech but I could not help posting this piece of analysis. Just read through the land lie and deceit which the Wall Street had build. It is nine pages ong but you will enjoy it.
End of Wall Street
Last week I went to attend Boston Angel Investor and Venture Capital Workshop organized by Funding Post. I had been skeptic of networking events lately especially in this downturn where there are lot of similar events going on but they hardly yield any value. Not to mention I was also wondering if it was worth to invest $75 for such event.
Keeping my skepticism aside , I decide to attend the event. The event was organized in the beautiful office of Bingham in the heart of Boston. There were around 80 entrepreneurs and some people looking to build contacts and find jobs. But mostly it was a good match of people who had a diverse ideas and were looking for funds to either bootstrap their idea or to take it to the next event.
One of the best parts of the event was the panel of Angel Investors and VC’s who discussed on various topics from how to get fund in this economy , valuations etc . They also offered some pretty good advice to entrepreneurs on keeping their heads high.
I received some good feedback on the products geekevaluation.com and skill-guru from fellow members and had some encouraging words from some of the angels group.
To summarize my experience, this is not the kind of event where you expect to go with your idea and come back with a check. This event is more in getting tunes with reality ,make some contacts and get feedback from people around as to what could be done to improve your product or service.
It was a time and $75 well spent at funding post event and look forward for some more events in future.

My first company as an entrepreneur was etattva back in 2003 in Noida, India. It was a company which started with the concept of providing training to college students or freshers who have zero exposure or very little exposure to real world development. Our focus area was Java/J2EE
Much of the credit of running this company goes to my wife who ran it full time while I supported her after my regular job. My brother was also an early supporter and he also helped us lot during our initial days.
When we moved to South Africa then back to India and then to US , we could not keep etattva running. So we thought of trying on line training . But that was not successful.
Then I thought of creating a software where people would come in and can give mock test. This idea gave birth to the current SCJP mock exams we have on etattva.
Now after 2 years have some other plans of how this could be turned into an much better platform and with this vision launched skill-guru .
I am hoping this would be a fun idea to try with. How it really goes , we will only know after couple of years.
